Lash and Backlash

By lash, I refer to the polemical frenzy designed to attack all things liberal and many things scientific in the name of God. The supposedly social intent of this policy is laid out in The Wedge Document.

The backlash runs both ways: liberals against anti-liberal invectives, and anti-liberal denigration of liberals and attacks on legislated human rights; scientists against creationist pseudoscience, and creationists against scientists; environmental experts against denial of global warming, and denialists' attacks on expertize; experts against dangerous alternative therapies and quakery, and the alternative therapy industry against the pharmaceutical industry and medical experts; and, the latest phase atheists against unquestioning belief in the supernatural, and theists against atheists.
